Here is an example page. It’s different from a blog post because it will stay in one place and will show up in the navigation of your site (depending on your theme). Most people start with a page “About” that introduces them to potential site visitors. It might say something like this piece:

Hello! I am a mechanic who aspires to become an actor, and this is my blog. I live in Los Angeles, have a great dog named Jack, and I like piña coladas (and watching the rain fall).

… or something like this:

The company Doohickey 123 was created in 1971 and has continued to provide the public with quality doohickies since. Located in Saint-Remy-en-Bouzemont-Saint-Genest-et-Isson 123 Doohickey employs 2,000 people and does all kinds of awesome things for the community bouzemontoise.
